Supergis III Reader
The Supergis III (SGIII) is an RFID reader with the unique capability that it can operate as a master in a master/slave network. In addition to the decoding of tags, the SGIII also controls the interfacing to the other components in the network. The Supergis III reader is featured with a built- in clock and back up battery. |
Key features
-
Excellent performance
-
Integrated input and relay output
-
Optional 4 additional in/outputs
-
Open industry communication
-
Unique decentralised I/O control
-
Identification of NEDAP tags
Integrated I/O for input and relay output
Participation in several standardised industrial sensor and actor networks is also one of the Supergis III unique features. A sensor input is available (e.g. to indicate a no-read situation, for general purposes or for detection synchronisation). The Supergis III is also featured with a relay output. The relay output is activated when a valid tag is identified. The output is deactivated when no tag is identified and the relay time has elapsed. Relay hold times can be set. Optional an dditional I/o expansion board is available with 4 inputs and 4 outputs.
Interfaces open for common industry systems
Interfaces to the host system are available for a broad range of industrial standards. Optional the Siemens S3964R and Profibus DP protocols are supported.
The Supergis III reader can be applied to create a master/slave network. The Supergis III can communicate as a master reader controlling the GIII-C in a Master/Slave configuration communication with the GIII-C Slavenodes is realised by RS422 with a multidrop protocol which allows up to 15 slaves to be connected to a total looplength of approximately 5 km [3.10 miles].
The Supergis III can communicate to the host system with the wide variety of interfaces.
Unique decentralised I/O control
The programmable cross table feature for output control is supported. The cross table is a programmable AND-OR array which can be either pre-programmed or programmed on site. In this way the reader can operate stand-alone and online communication with the host system is not required.
Information about the detected tag, a change of the input status, no-read- and error messages etc. are automatically presented to the host system as event messages. When communication is temporary disabled a maximum number of 1000 events can be stored. Added with the time, supplied through the builtin clock, the events can be uploaded when needed. The Supergis III can be programmed easily with customer defined settings or to perform special functions by sending command messages.
Identification
The Supergis III is able to identify all 120 kHz NEDAP transponders in combination with the reliable identification of the Nedap reader and antenna equipment.
